My name is Ryan Craig but most of my friends call me Chachi. I'm based out of Santa Cruz, CA and have been playing in and enjoying the ocean for as long as I can remember. Bodyboarding and surfing became a huge part of my life as I grew older and so has photography.
Eventually, after being sidelined with an injury I started to focus a bit more on capturing imagery of the surf and that passion really ignited in the years to follow. I became a staff photographer for Surfer Magazine and worked there for a number of years until the magazine eventually folded.
Although I just turned 41, I feel like I'm still learning and look forward to continuing to grow and tell more stories about the ocean, the people who are passionate about it, the culture around it and the interesting and often photogenic places that you travel to to tell these stories.
A good friend of mine opened my eyes to traveling in my late teens and with a camera in hand, I really began to enjoy the process of photography and the memories that I took home with me.
